Alejandro Garnacho deftly silenced a Manchester United supporter who criticized his first touch outside of Old Trafford.

United are in Europa League action against PAOK on Thursday night in what is Ruud van Nistelrooy’s penultimate game in charge as interim boss before the arrival of Ruben Amorim next week.

Garnacho, named in the starting XI against the Greek side, was filmed by a supporter while he was signing autographs for young fans outside the stadium ahead of kick-off.

The fan is heard giving the young Argentina international a grilling on camera, telling him: ‘Garnacho, you have to pass better today, please. Score a goal. And work on your first touch as well, yeah?’

Keeping his cool, Garnacho continued signing autographs before glancing back in the fan’s direction to deliver an ice cold response of: ‘Why are you not playing, man?’

The 20-year-old then walked off to the entrance to join his teammates inside the stadium.

Garnacho’s reaction has been widely praised by supporters on social media with the fan in question coming in for criticism.

‘This isn’t useful or constructive. It’s insulting and unnecessary. Fair play to Garnacho for putting him in his place,’ JayMotty wrote on X.

CallumStone added: ‘He did this with Dalot and now he’s doing it to Garnacho.

‘Imagine having the audacity to speak to the players like this when being talentless yourself.’

United collectively have endured a miserable start to the Premier League season, currently sat in 13th place having won just three of their opening 10 Premier League matches.

Garnacho has scored six times and laid on four assists in 16 appearances this term having scored in the club’s FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City last May.
