New Delhi: As most cricketers enjoy their time off with their families, India captain Rohit Sharma is hard at work preparing for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh with the help of Team India assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. After leading India to victory in the T20 World Cup in Jun, Rohit and other top players were immediately back in action against Sri Lanka at the beginning of the month. With a packed Test schedule on the horizon, Rohit is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring he is in top form for the challenging season ahead.

In a video going viral on the internet, Rohit can be seen doing cardio drills and exercises in a park in Mumbai under the supervision of Nayar. They were heavily guarded by security. Nayar, who was once Rohit’s teammate in the Mumbai state team, is now a part of the Indian backroom staff.

Meanwhile, Rohit was last seen playing in the Test series at home against England in March. With the World Test Championship final approaching next year, India will be playing 10 Tests in the remaining months in 2024. India, who have lost in the last two WTC finals in 2021 and 2023, are sitting atop the standings in the current table.

Under Rohit’s guidance, India reclaimed the T20 World Cup title after 17 years in Barbados in June beating South Africa in the final. India’s first T20 World Cup title came in 2007 under MS Dhoni. There were also questions on Rohit’s India captaincy after he quit the shortest format following the T20 World Cup title. However, quashing all rumours, Rohit was confirmed to lead India in the WTC final and the ICC Champions Trophy next year.
