New Delhi: Just before diving into the latest dismissal news, it's worth noting that India's top batsman Virat Kohli has now crossed the 9,000-run mark in Test Cricket, making him only the fourth Indian player to achieve this milestone. Kohli joins the esteemed company of legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Sunil Gavaskar in this elite club. It took Kohli 116 Test matches to reach this impressive feat, with a stunning half-century against New Zealand in the first Test at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru helping him surpass the 9,000-run mark.
The dismissal of Virat Kohli took place in the 49th over of India’s second innings. Glenn Phillips bowled a flatted delivery outside off and Virat Kohli got a faint edge through to the wicketkeeper. The 35-year-old feathered the ball and Blundell was convinced before the TV umpire confirmed it was out. Virat Kohli saw the big screen and looked gutted.
It is worth mentioning that, Virat Kohli had changed the gloves just a ball earlier after diving for a second run at the striker’s end. With the wicket, Glenn Phillips broke the 136-run-third-wicket partnership between Sarfaraz Khan and Virat Kohli.
