5. WNBA PLAYOFFS: LIBERTY, SUN TAKE GAME 1s

Liberty 87, Aces 77: The NY Liberty had 347 days to think about the last time they faced the Aces in the Playoffs – when Vegas ended the 2023 season in New York by winning Game 4 of the Finals to become the first team in 20 years to win back-to-back titles.

Nearly a year later, these teams met again in New York for Game 1 of the 2024 Semifinals on Sunday – this time with a different result as the Liberty prevailed 87-77 behind a combined 68 points from Breanna Stewart (34 pts, 5 reb, 4 ast, 2 stl), Sabrina Ionescu (21 pts, 5 ast) and Jonquel Jones (13 pts, 12 reb).
