Veteran point guard Chris Paul made NBA history on Sunday by delivering his 12,092 assist, surpassing Hall of Famer Jason Kidd for second place on the all-time list.
Paul tallied the decisive dime on an inbounds pass to Spurs teammate Victor Wembanyama, who knocked down a 3-pointer as San Antonio battled New Orleans.
The 20-year-veteran now trails only John Stockton, who amassed 15,806 assists during his record-setting career with the Jazz. Paul’s career average of 9.34 assists per game ranks fifth in NBA history.
